Abstract A one-stop financial shopping philosophy where consumers can get a mortgage or an auto loan, insure their home or car and buy investments all under one roof seems like a fine idea. Yet providing all that convenience is worthless if financial institutions do not execute (sell) that philosophy. This Strategic Update explores the value of institutions selling investment products and insurance policies to their customers. It also explores consumer attitudes about investing/purchasing such services from their primary financial institutions.
