What
Activity data do you process?
RFG processes checking account-level transaction data that is summarized
to a specific period of time, typically monthly or
quarterly. For
instance, the value for "Paper checks
cleared" might be 17, meaning that seventeen
paper checks were written on a specific account and
cleared the institution in the month of September. The
data is extracted from the daily transaction files
created by the core processing system, then summarized
by account.
What is the
Delivery Channel Activity Report?
This 80 page report explains how your members
or customers use the delivery channels and products
available to them. Find out who uses which channels
and why. Insights provided by this report can generate
tactics for increasing channel efficiency, re-deploying
channels to better fit needs, and designing new
products. The report is delivered as a PowerPoint
presentation and is reviewed one-on-one between you
and an RFG analyst via live Internet web meeting. To
see a sample page from the report, click
here. TOP
How many months of data are
needed?
Due to the variations that can occur in the activity
level of a given account from one month to the next,
we will create a historical transaction file based on
at least six months of activity data. TOP
How does activity
data help find new marketing opportunities?
Using iNTEGRATOR, you can create activity-based
segments for targeted marketing, and tailor offers on
product and delivery channel usage. To see an
assortment of
activity-based tactics, click on the Activity
Tactics Menu link in the upper-right
corner of this web page. TOP
Can
I take advantage of activity data if I don't use your
MCIF?
Yes. You can purchase the Delivery Channel Activity
Report from RFG as a separate item. You will need to
supply us with at least six months worth of Activity data. In
addition to the Delivery Channel Activity Report, we
will also provide you with 45 days of access to our
iNTEGRATOR MCIF Service Bureau
so you can request
micro-marketing reports based on your Activity data.
TOP
How do I get
activity data out of my core system?
Extracting activity data requires either a separate
program or script that queries the specific data
points needed (such as number of teller transactions)
for each account for each day, and puts them into a
single "bucket" for that transaction type
for each checking account. The result is an ASCII file where each line of the file
is one checking account record. TOP
From which data processing
systems has Activity data been extracted?
If your system is not on this list, please contact comments@raddon.com
for updated information.

What summarized
checking account data should be provided?
RFG will provide a
detailed list of the fields we are seeking and discuss
it with your IT personnel to ensure the data matches
specifications. TOP
To participate, must all
activity data fields be provided?
No, not all fields must be provided. However, the more
you can provide, the better able RFG is to provide
meaningful analysis, and the better you'll be able to
drill down into iNTEGRATOR (if you use RFG's MCIF
system) to find valuable marketing opportunities.
TOP
May we provide
additional activity detail that you are not
requesting?
Yes. An example might be "Number of Drive-thru transactions",
or "Number of Deposits received by Mail". Of
course, you must be sure to let RFG know what
additional fields you are providing. TOP
May we discuss with
an RFG expert what data we can and cannot deliver?
Yes. Please contact
comments@raddon.com
RFG to
discuss your particular situation. We have worked with
a number of banks and credit unions to help define
and collect activity data. TOP
Can queries be
created from activity based fields?
Yes, if you use iNTEGRATOR. See the Tactics menu
in the upper-right corner of this page to see examples
of actual queries. TOP
What does adding
activity data do to my ability to foot to my Call
Report?
RFG has gone to great lengths to ensure the addition
of checking account transaction data continues to foot
to the Call Report. It is possible to look at a specific
checking account, see its associated income and
expenses, and carry that all the way through. TOP
How often can
transaction activity data be integrated?
This depends on the type of RFG services you use. If
you are an iNTEGRATOR MCIF user, activity data can be
householded into your MCIF data as frequently as your
regular database updates. If you are a CEO Strategies participant,
six months of
activity data will be collected, then integrated
at the same time your CEO Strategies book is prepared.
TOP
Can
we household activity data ourselves?
Yes. If you are currently an iNTEGRATOR MCIF user, and
do your householding onsite, you can continue to do
your householding onsite even with the inclusion of
activity data. A new version of the householding
module is available in version 6.0 of iNTEGRATOR
to make this possible. TOP
Do you offer
"activity" level analysis for account types
other than checking?
Currently, we only offer activity-level support for
checking accounts. This is because
checking accounts have the highest level of daily
variability (deposit and withdrawal transactions), and
typically, the greatest number of channels supporting
the activity (checks, ATM, POS, PC Banking, phone
banking, tellers, ACH, etc.). Other key areas for
activity analysis are being developed. TOP
What is the process
for adding Activity?
Once you've decided to sign up for Activity, you will
be sent a list of the needed data fields. This
list should be reviewed carefully with your IT
department to make sure they can gather the
information. From there, they will need to
create a one-month "test" file of activity
data. This file is then sent to RFG for
review. If there are any errors or questions
about data validity, you will be notified along with
clarification. Typically, a test file may go
through three or four iterations before being
accepted. Once it is approved, your IT
department will need to send an additional five months
of activity data for a total of six months worth.
TOP
How
often is Activity data processed?
We process activity data on the same cycle that you
household if you use iNTEGRATOR. If you are not an
iNTEGRATOR user but are interested in purchasing the
Delivery Channel Activity Report, your activity data
will be processed at the same time we process you for
CEO Strategies. You must be a CEO Strategies
customer in order to qualify for the Delivery Channel
Activity Report. TOP
What does it cost?
There are some costs associated with Activity, though
compared to the potential ROA, they are modest.
Please contact
RFG for pricing information. To participate in an upcoming processing cycle, please
the Delivery Channel Activity Report participation form.
