Annualized Monthly Average Definition

ANNUALIZED means the transaction count is calculated out to 12 months worth of representation.  This process occurs even when data available is less than 12 months worth.  The minimum number of months required for annualization of a particular account is three.  Once more than 12 months of actual data exists for the account, only the 12 most recent months are used.  Annualization is calculated at the account level and is done on each and every account, thereby  ensuring new accounts are properly adjusted as they are added.

MONTHLY AVERAGE means the monthly average number of transactions, of a specific type, for the checking account.   This is determined by dividing the annualized transaction count by 12.  Because of this, Annualized Monthly Average transaction counts are often expressed with a fractional component.  For example, a checking account may average 4.33 debit card transactions per month, which is equivalent to 52 debit card transactions per year.
