High-Performing Credit
Unions Recognized by Raddon Financial Group
Balanced scorecard measures growth, income, efficiency and margin
management
GLASTONBURY, Conn.,
August 26, 2010 – Raddon Financial Group (RFG), a provider of
research-based solutions to financial institutions and a strategic
business unit of Open Solutions Inc.®, recently presented its annual
Crystal Performance Awards to high-performing credit unions in two asset
classes based on their performance: credit unions above $500 million and
below $500 million in assets. The award recognizes 10 credit unions in
each asset category that achieve a top ten ranking on a balanced
scorecard measuring growth, income, efficiency and margin management.
More than 500 credit unions were evaluated in this year’s ranking.
Each Crystal Performance Award recipient ranked among the top two or
three percent of all credit unions analyzed by RFG for two consecutive
reporting periods. The award-winning credit unions were invited to
attend RFG’s annual, invitation-only CEO Forum, held August 11th through
13th at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo.
“We are pleased to again recognize high-performing credit unions,” said
Bill Handel, vice president of research and product development with
RFG. “These credit unions have demonstrated excellence in terms of their
commitment to develop and deploy successful strategies. Recipients of
this award tend to have strong member relationships with higher deposit
and loan balances per household, but tend to efficiently and effectively
control expenses. Credit unions tend to maintain an average efficiency
ratio of about 75 percent, but Crystal Performance Award winners tend to
maintain a much better ratio, around 60 percent.”
The 10 honorees above $500 million in assets were Altra Federal Credit
Union (La Crosse, Wis.), Community First Credit Union (Appleton, Wis.),
Ent Federal Credit Union (Colorado Springs, Colo.), F&A Federal Credit
Union (Monterey Park, Calif.), Lockheed Federal Credit Union (Burbank,
Calif.), Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (Live Oak, Texas), Robins
Federal Credit Union (Warner Robins, Ga.), San Diego County Credit Union
(San Diego, Calif.), Spokane Teachers Credit Union (Liberty Lake, Wash.)
and Visions Federal Credit Union (Endicott, N.Y.).
The 10 honorees below $500 million in assets were America’s Credit Union
(Fort Lewis, Wash.), Deere Employees Credit Union (Moline, Ill.), Dow
Louisiana Federal Credit Union (Plaquemine, La.), Hawaii Community
Federal Credit Union (Kailua-Kona, Hawaii), Kirtland Federal Credit
Union (Albuquerque, N.M.), SeaComm Federal Credit Union (Massena, N.Y.),
Service 1st Federal Credit Union (Danville, Pa.), Shell Federal Credit
Union (Deer Park, Texas), Sound Credit Union (Tacoma, Wash.) and
SouthPoint Federal Credit Union (Sleepy Eye, Minn.).
“Consistency in overall performance is requisite in our selection of
Crystal Performance Award winners,” said Bob Dye, general manager and
chief operating officer of RFG. “We are pleased to recognize such a
diverse group of credit unions from all areas of the country. Despite
differences in geography, member demographics and scale, each of these
credit unions embodies the key traits we find in measuring
high-performing credit unions. The management teams, boards, employees
and members should be very pleased with this recognition.”
To be eligible for the Crystal Performance Award, a credit union must
participate in the CEO Strategies Group for an in-depth analysis of the
credit union’s financials, sales, products and member household
relationships.
